TFB Externship Academy

After many tears and honest conversations, Randy and I have made the difficult and emotional decision to close both The Foxes Boxes and the TFB Externship Academy . Our final day will be October 30, 2020.

We will be open 11AM-6PM, Tue (10/13), Wed (10/14), Thu (10/15), closed on Friday (10/16). Then open Tuesday-Friday 11AM-6PM (October 20-23) and (October 27-30).

We will offer ONLINE ORDERING for PICK-UP ONLY. We will not be answering our phones during business hours or taking any payments at the door. All orders must be paid in advance through this online ordering menu.

While we make this transition there may be days with limited menu items. We appreciate your understanding.

We have been changed by this space and the people it has brought into our lives. We will feel such a void when we lock the doors for the last time. Thank you ALL for the love and the memories. You will be missed!

Mission

The TFB Externship Academy aims to inspire and empower individuals with employment barriers by providing innovative on-the-job training, building leadership, communications, and job skills that lead to self-sufficiency, professional fulfillment, and a confident value-added workforce for the always growing hospitality and service industry.

In support of this mission, the organization will:

Facilitate a comprehensive workforce development program up to 240 hours, at The Foxes Boxes, a quick casual restaurant located in an urban area experiencing growth and revitalization.
Prepare participants for a math and literacy evaluation that will help them succeed in their future places of employment.
Connect participants with local nonprofits and public agencies for wrap around services going beyond the scope of the academy.
Assist participants in the creation of a resume as well as interview training to prepare them to be successful in securing a job after the completion of the program.

The TFB Externship Academy will add to the vibrant hospitality and service industry with a talent pipeline of confident, motivated, qualified job candidates.

Values

Creating an opportunity for all to have access to employment and job training skills regardless of their life circumstances.
Instilling the importance of integrity into the participants who go through the academy. o Invoking creativity by allowing participants to express themselves through food and creative idea generation with the staff.
Instilling in participants the importance of a good work ethic and how it will help them succeed not only in the program, but also beyond the walls of academy.
Allowing for a safe space of self-discovery where participants are encouraged to explore who they really are.
Encouraging community engagement through outside community groups, nonprofits and public organizations that want to help foster the values we are teaching our participants.
